Super Star Investors
Superstar investors are those small number of investors that have "beaten" the market at least for some period of time.  Of course being able to do so for some period of time might just be luck, but these investors are interesting to study none-the-less.

  1. Warren Buffett.  Arguably the most famous of all investors in the late 20th century.  Down to earth, humble, and also VERY rich.  An advocate of value investing.  Founded Berkshire Hathaway.
One of my favorite topics of Buffett is his gorilla and coin flipping discussion from Investorhome.  Read it, use it for class, it is very funny!  Although I tend to use it in favor of Efficient Markets.  It should be noted that during the late 1990s, Buffet's picks lagged the market as he was consistently under weighting technology stocks.

  1. Peter Lynch.  Ran the Fidelity Magellan Fund and author of several books on investing.  He is also now an author for Worth Magazine.
  1. George Soros--Eccentric investor and philanthropist who has made billions by taking enormous bets, often on currency movements.
