As the web site was down for the past
week, I will make it a flexible due date. If you submit it on the
1st (the original due date) you will get an extra 5 points on the paper.
If you submit on that Friday you get three extra points. Papers will
not be accepted after Monday Dec 6.
Rules and regulations
-
The paper is OPTIONAL!!! You do not need to do it.
-
No credit is guaranteed. If the paper is poorly done you will get
a zero.
-
The term paper should be between 6-10 typed (word-processed) pages.
(not including the title page, bibliography and any appendices).
-
The paper must be submitted by December 1, 1999.
-
All sources must be shown and any key point, or statistic must be noted
(foot note or in-line) within the paper. (no end notes-sorry)
-
The paper should be done in 12-point font with normal margins and double
spacing.
-
The paper will be graded on grammar as well as content.
-
It will be worth a maximum of 20 points on the test. However, to
get the entire 20 points is extremely unlikely. A more realistic
estimate would be for a good paper 15 points, for a good paper 10-12 points,
for a so-so paper 5 points, and for a poor paper 0 points.
-
I will look over a one-page proposal and make comments if you like.
This proposal (optional but recommended) is due November 17th (you can
submit earlier).
Sorry for so many rules, but I had a very bad experience once with
an extra credit assignment so I am playing it safe this time. :-)
